2006 Kauai Surf Safari...

Here are the highlighted, or "Hot Shots" of this session... Click the "See more here" link to go to the stock gallery of all shots taken. See "Archive Images" for earlier galleries.

Day two, December 15th, 2006. See more here.

This morning was dreary and cold. Eileen decided to sleep in. Left the camera behind since passing showers would make it difficult to shoot. Back to "Secrets" with more size. I surfed briefly as the currents had picked up too and required some hard swimming. Since these guys were charging, I figured I had time to run back to Dave's and get my camera. The showers seemed to be letting up...As I got back, they had gotten out for a break. Tom and his daughter had to go. The guys were going back in , but the wind switched and conditions got bad. Changing their mind, we packed up and headed out. I did managed a few shots, but no one on them.

After the morning session, we came home for some breakfast and got ready to go check the south shore. The strong trade winds kicked up some waves and were wrapping into "Shipwrecks"... First a few shots of our drive south.

Cold and windy! Eileen and I sat on the beach while Steve and Neal jumped in. Dave thought for a while and decided to join us watching the action. John Fink was supposed to meet us, but was a no show...Sponger and stick packed "Shipwrecks".

While on the south shore, David's wife Deb called to let him know that Wayne, her dad, wasn't doing so well and had to got to the hospital. On the way back, we dropped off Dave at Wilcox Memorial. Steve, Neal and myself headed back to Kilauea. We stopped at Tom's place of business, "Pau Hana Pizza/Kilauea Bakery" and ordered some pizzas for dinner. YUMMY! We tended to the dog and held down the fort. Dave and Deb got home around 8PM. Wayne ended up getting a blood transfusion and was doing fine. He stayed in the hospital till Sunday. He was looking a lot better by the time we left.
