2008 Earthday

Photos by Ben Lomas on Sunday, 20 April 2008, at the 5th Annual HSBA Earthday Sandy Beach cleanup. We had over 75 registered participants this year. There was so much ono kine grindz we we're trying to feed the whole beach instead of throwing away all the good food. There so many free door prizes given away, I think about 3/4 of the people went home with something. Mahalo to Kino Surfwear/Sumo Sushi, Shane and Julianne Awai for the $200 Gas Can Oakley polarized sunglasses, Da Fins and about $300 of gift certificates for Starbucks, Blockbusters, McDonalds, Stonecold Ice Cream; Alojahs-Bodyridas shirts from Kamaka Jingao; FFA shirts from Matt Kanemoto, Bodysurfer art posters from Arlo Valera; Kua Aina Sandwich gift certificates from Bryan Botelho; Camelback from Jonathan Pakele; Remy Martin caps from David Gochros, HSBA shirts and sticker and few shirts from Al. Mahalo to Da Hui members for joining us again this year (Dallas, Kala, Malia, Tom, and several others enjoyed a wonderful day at Sandy's. Mahalo to Clyde for the opening prayer and to Carol for blessing the food. The meeting went very well - most of our membership are now well informed of all our issues from the past, present and future. Many brought their keiki to clean the aina for a better future for all.
