BEACH ENTRIES FOR
COMPETITION ($30 WITH EVENT SHIRT INCLUDED) WILL BE ACCEPTED TILL 9:30AM, FRIDAY
MORNING (SEPT 11th)
Just to keep everybody posted, the new ssw swell (2-3, occ 4ft) is SLOW to
arrive, but it will show up sometime on friday.
Depending on the number of beach entries, we may (and probably will) run 5 man
heats (instead of 6 man) in Round 1. Better for ALL the competitors...
AND also depending on the amount of beach entries... EVERYBODY will have a
chance to make the TOP 16 who will be advancing to the Quarterfinals on
Saturday!!!
Right now, I estimate the total number of competitors to be around 40. I may
get flooded with beach entries Friday morning but I doubt it! so 16 out of
40... no matter who u are... EVERYBODY has a chance!!!
Good luck and keep praying for SURF!!!

Aloha kakou!
Just want to update everybody with the latest...
We got some storm activity down south (New Zealand area) that may possibly
warrant an actual swell next weekend (filling in Sept 10th, holding through
the 11th & 12th, maybe the 13th but possibly not) I'll be keeping my eye on
it for the next few days. I'm hoping "the bigger, the better!" but we'll
just have to be patient and see what happens.
I'd like to thank everybody for their kokua thus far. I'm actually only the
middle-man here. None of this would be possible without your valuable
assistance and contributions. If I can speak for everybody who loves
bodysurfing as much as I do, MAHALO NUI LOA!!!
I'm EXTREMELY excited about getting this event up-&-running and we are
pretty confident that we will run in the next 30 days so pray for surf and
for those swell generators down under to PUMP and point towards us here in
Hawaii!!!
I have yet to solidify EVERYTHING in regards to the event itself such as
t-shirts, judging, officiating, trophies & prizes, food & drinks, PA system,
the ez ups canopies & pop up tents, water patrol, etc. Please email me
again (sorry, its been a long summer) to confirm your contributions so I can
attempt to organize them appropriately.
For the early entrants (you know who u are), this email is a CONFIRMATION
that I received your entry form and payment for the competition and
therefore, you're IN and you're in "the communication loop" of what's going
on and when... (standby for future emails...)
Any questions, comments, or concerns? Don't hesitate to ask me via email or
by phone at (808)443-6026
Keep in touch when u have the time and have an excellent first day of
September!

ALOHA KAKOU!
My name is Kanekoa Crabbe and I am seeking your support and/or assistance in one
of the most exclusive bodysurfing ONLY events in Hawaii; the birthplace of ocean
waveriding. Â My purpose in creating this event is "To celebrate & perpetuate
the Hawaiian art form of he'e umauma and kaha nalu (bodysurfing)" which,
as a young Hawaiian male, is my kuleana (responsibility) as the elder
generations of Hawaii pass on.
Attached to this email is the official flyer and entry form I have created. Â
Please feel free to review it for the basic information about our event when it
is most convenient for you.
Because I am currently the sole financier of this endeavor, I humbly come before
you to ask for your kokua (help) in making this first-time even as successful as
possible. Â I have personally selected you and/or your business because I am
familiar with what morals and values you and your respective companies believe
in, many quite similar to my own. Â I hope to continue this event annually
provided I attain the necessary support from the State Of Hawaii, the people of
Hawaii, and all parties interested in sustaining bodysurfing as a fun,
enjoyable, healthy, and culturally-significant pastime. Â Bodysurfing, to me,
is the foundation for ALL the various mediums of waveriding. Â Without it, many
things today wound not exist. Â Great watermen and women of the past and
present would agree.
In return for your sponsorship, donation(s), and/or assistance, we are offering
you advertising space in form of your companies logo on our event t-shirts,
visual advertising opportunities at the event, and verbal advertising through
the M.C. during the event itself. Â If you are able to assist us in any way,
shape, or form, no matter how big or small, please feel free to contact me via
email at kanekoa78@hotmail.com
, by phone at (808)443-6026, or by mail at 55-619 Naniloa Loop. Laie, HI 96762.
If you may know of any other parties that may be interested in assisting us with
this event, please send this email including the attached documents to them
whenever possible.
Mahalo nui loa (Thank you very much) for you time and have a wonderful day!
Sincerely,
Kanekoa K.C. Crabbe
